The long-awaited Foothill College Sunnyvale Center has opened it’s new 50,000 sq. ft. center located in the Moffett Business Park. The center focuses on both entry-level and in-demand as well as emerging skills and also offers courses from Mission College, thanks to a partnership between the two schools.
The Center is situated on the former Onizuka Air Force Station, which was officially closed in 2010. To honor this history, Foothill integrated historical information and artifacts into the new facility.
The facility hopes to attain State of the art LEED Gold certification. It features 19 classrooms, 17 flexible SMART classrooms, 2 dedicated computer labs, including GIS and Computer Science lab, and seats a total of 866. It also houses offices for Admissions & Records, Counseling and Financial Aid and includes a Library, Testing & Assessment, and Tutoring facilities along with a cafe and bookstore.
MatriScope is honored to have provided testing and inspection services for this project.
