About the Project
The Pinole Point Business Park is located in a highly sought after Bay Area in-fill location near Interstates 80 and 580. This area has seen quite a bit of development in recent years, as companies like Whole Foods Market, UPS, Broadline Medical, and Bio-Rad Laboratories have moved into the area.
Before breaking ground on the new business park, an empty, 350,000 square foot former steel factory had to be torn down. Construction included the development of two concrete tilt-up structures with hybrid panelized wood roofs. The new buildings, totaling 470,000 square feet of space, will be used as future warehouse, distribution center and/or manufacturing operations.
MatriScope was contracted to provide materials testing, including:
- cast-in-place concrete
- concrete unit masonry
- structural steel
- miscellaneous steel
- structural wood framing
