PERFORMING ARTS MODERNIZATION

The Performing Arts Modernization project, planned as part of the SCC Facilities Master Plan, consisted of a general remodeling and modernization of the existing 34,628 square-foot Performing Arts Auditorium originally built in 1937. 

MatriScope provided special inspections and material testing services as related to earthwork, trench backfill, cast-in-place concrete, rebar and hold-down, concrete sampling and cylinder preparation, thin brick veneer placement, structural steel fabrication, and erection and glue-laminated timber fabrication.

SACRAMENTO CITY COLLEGE
 

THUNDER VALLEY CASINO RESORT
LINCOLN, CA

The United Auburn Indian Community converted Thunder Valley Casino into a world class casino and resort. With 240,000 square feet of existing casino spaces, the expansion added a 15-story hotel, performing arts center, recreation facilities, and seven-story parking garage. The facility also includes a wastewater treatment plant, central plant and fire station.

A sub-consultant to RMA, MatriScope provided materials testing for concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and structural steel, in addition to field inspections, assuring all steel welds, high strength bolts, and fireproofing meet local codes and safety standards.

BLUE OAKS STADIUM 16 CINEMA
ROCKLIN, CA

The Blue Oaks Stadium 16 Cinema project consisted of the conversion and renovation of a pre-existing Mervyn’s Department Store into a 16-screen digital cinema complex. SR Entertainment Group and EMJ Corporation turned the 57,000 square- foot space into a 2,888-seat multiplex, state-of-the-art theater which houses an all-digital operation with no projection booths or film.

MatriScope’s services for the Blue Oaks Stadium 16 Cinema included soil sampling, testing and compaction, reinforced concrete inspection, sampling and testing, inspection and observation of epoxy dowels, and welding.

BLUE OAKS STADIUM 16 CINEMA
 

THE CHATEAU AT HEAVENLY VILLAGE
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA

The Chateau in South Lake Tahoe is a 20 acre redevelopment project that provides two luxury condo-hotels, retail space and the long awaited convention center to this resort destination. Due to the seasonal constraints of the area, construction efforts and associated inspection and testing for this project were performed under an extremely aggressive construction schedule.

MatriScope effectively performed and remained flexible and responsive to the scheduling requirements of the associated contractors by maintaining four full time multi-disciplined inspectors and one senior resident inspector working a variety of shifts to complete the job. MatriScope provided special inspections and material testing services related to engineered fill placement, structural concrete, masonry, and structural steel.

THE CHATEAU AT HEAVENLY VILLAGE
 

NEW AGGIE MULTI-USE STADIUM

DAVIS, CA

The UC Davis Multi-Use Stadium project located at the southwest corner of Hutchison Drive and La Rue Road was long overdue. The stadium provides an initial 10,000 seats (with plans to expand for an additional 30,000 seats), along with locker rooms, press box and space for vendors. The stadium opened during the Fall of 2006.

MatriScope performed geotechnical engineering, earthwork observation and related laboratory testing services.

OLD SUGAR MILL
CLARKSBURG, CA

Old Sugar Mill is located in Yolo County along the west side of the Sacramento River. It is a 1930's-era factory and was once home to American Crystal Sugar Company and Delta Sugar Corporation. Redevelopment included a mix of land uses on the 106-acre site, including industrial, commercial and residential. Wineries and a custom crush facility were among the first businesses to open there in 2005. Construction included the extensive renovation and reuse of 120,000 square foot structure including a seismic upgrade and new tenant build out.

MatriScope performed geotechnical engineering, and construction inspection and testing of engineered fill, reinforced concrete, masonry, high strength bolting and structural welding.
