NORTHSTAR RESORT BUILDINGS D, E, F, G, H, J, R, & ICE RINK
TRUCKEE, CA

Inspired by the grand lodge architecture of the American West, the new Village at Northstar features native stones and timber, cobblestone streets and outdoor fire pits, an eclectic variety of shops and restaurants, and an outdoor skating rink in the center of it all. An aggressive construction timeline kicked off with half of the initial construction ($330 million) scheduled to take place in the first 18 months. Total construction cost of the completed resort and related infrastructure is targeted at $1.5 billion. A focal point to this mountain renaissance will be a new ski-in, ski-out village planned for the base of the slopes, offering luxurious condominiums surrounding a natural focal point of activity.

MatriScope performed building department code compliance inspections, Caltrans civil and electrical inspections, geotechnical engineering, pile driving, earthwork observation and testing, special inspections and materials testing of concrete, masonry, epoxy dowels, structural steel, and fireproofing for this prestigious project.

MARRIOTT’S TIMBER LODGE – PHASES II AND III
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA

The Marriott’s Timber Lodge located in South Lake Tahoe, California is a premiere Vacation Club Resort with six stories plus a basement. With 200,000 square feet, this timeshare condominium building consists of 110 guest villas of one-, two- and three-bedroom designs.

MatriScope provided geotechnical engineering, and construction inspection services related to placement of engineered fill cast-in-place concrete, post-tensioned concrete, structural steel, and fireproofing.

LAKE TAHOE VACATION RESORT – PHASE IV
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE , CA

The Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort (formerly Embassy Suites) in South Lake Tahoe, California is a six-story, condominium vacation resort constructed of reinforced concrete shear walls and columns supporting elevated post-tensioned concrete floor slabs. The ornate gable roof framing consists of welded structural steel members. The parking structure incorporates the use of structural pre-cast concrete framing in conjunction with masonry partition walls and a structural steel supported roof. MatriScope staffed this challenging project utilizing one resident inspector and several on call inspectors.

MatriScope is performing construction observation related to engineered fill placement, structural concrete, masonry, and structural steel.

LAKE TAHOE VACATION RESORT
 

RITZ-CARLTON DESTINATION CLUB
TRUCKEE, CA

MatriScope completed special inspections and materials testing for this world-class destination resort in Truckee, California. Part of a $300 million development, the 284,000 square foot, six-story club includes a total of 78 fractional ownership residences, fitness center, skier services, sales gallery and operational support areas. The structural cast-in-place concrete frame is supported by isolated geopiers and grade beam foundation system with concrete columns, shear walls, and elevated post-tensioned concrete floors.

MatriScope’s commitment to provide the Ritz-Carlton Development Company with quality and timely information, and our dedication to confirm the intent of the project plans were followed by the contractor resulted in an expeditious and cost effective delivery.
