About the Project
The CA Office Buildings 8 & 9 project was a large renovation of two 18-floor towers, which includes 540,000 square feet of office space for the State of California Department of Social Services (DSS). The renovation included implementation of new mechanical, electrical and telecommunications systems, structural upgrades addressing seismic considerations, overall building upgrades meeting current code requirements, and minor repairs to the exterior shell.
The seismic retrofit upgrades include epoxy dowel installation and hydraulic dampening system incorporated into the newly installed steel brace frames. Remaining renovations included the HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life systems.
