California Registered Engineer: Managed by a Senior Registered Civil and Geotechnical Engineer, our lab is staffed by highly trained and experienced technicians. All reports and procedures are under the direct supervision of Mr. Ying-Chi Liao, P.E., G.E. — a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at MatriScope responsible for certifying test results for compliance and accuracy.
Laboratory and Equipment Calibration: Our testing laboratory equipment and facility is in compliance with ASTM E 329, Testing Agencies for Construction, ASTM E 543 Evaluating Agencies that Perform Nondestructive Testing, and ASTM D 3740 Evaluation of Agencies Engaged in Testing and/or Inspection of Soil or Rock Used in Engineering Design and Construction. Furthermore, the laboratory facility is inspected regularly by CCRL (National Institute of Standards and Technology) and AMRL (AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory) and is approved by local county building inspection departments, California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), United Sates Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and the DSA Laboratory Evaluation and Acceptance (LEA No. 138). MatriScope is a member and approved by the California Council of Testing & Inspection Agencies (CCTIA) Competency Advisory Program (CAP).
Located minutes from Downtown Sacramento, MatriScope’s headquarters building is situated on a 1.3 acre corner lot, and includes 16,500 square feet of professional office space, and state-of-the-art materials testing laboratory.
Each of our field personnel are certified with one or more of the following organizations: American Concrete Institute (ACI), National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), American Welding Society (AWS), International Code Council (ICC), and American Society of Nondestructive testing (ASNT-TC-1A/CP-189).
