Controller
As Office Manager, Cherie Harbolt contributes more than 30 years of results-oriented experience in office administration and accounting. Cherie holds a diverse position that includes responsibilities for accounts receivable/payable, payroll and billing, certified payroll, human resources, workers compensation, benefits administration, new hire orientation, internal notary public services and administrative office management. She is extremely conscientious and thorough in performing her duties, responsive to customer service requests, and follow up.

JOSEPH L. VARELLA
Field Supervisor
As Field Supervisor, Joe Varella contributes more than 14 years of professional experience in infrastructure and commercial building construction involving Quality Control Management, ICBO/AWS inspection, estimating, supervision, and contract administration. Joe has more than 3 years of construction inspection experience as a DSA certified Class 3 General Building Inspector and is presently certified by AWS as a Certified Welding Inspector. Joe’s strong experience and excellent working knowledge of construction industry practices combined with his detailed ability to interpret plans and confirm code compliance is a real asset in his performance as a senior inspector. Field supervision includes overseeing inspections related to shop and field welding inspection, concrete inspection including reinforcing steel and prestressed cable placement and stressing observation, masonry inspection and material sampling. Additional responsibilities include initial establishment of project scope and testing/inspection requirements, development of quality assurance tracking and administration procedures (both written and database applications), oversight of day-to-day inspection requests, management of non-compliance tracking and resolution and providing effective written and verbal communication to the project team.

JEFFERY
S. DRAKE
Laboratory
Manager
As Laboratory Manager, Jeff Drake brings more than 15 years of construction experience to the MatriScope team. His extensive inspection and testing background includes the establishment of project specific quality assurance programs designed to meet the stringent requirements of USACE, OSHPD, DSA and Caltrans. He plans and implements the overall laboratory policies, procedures, and services and is responsible for laboratory management under the direct supervision of our materials engineers. Jeff assures efficient and effective departmental operations, including quality control and compliance adherence. Jeff is a multi-disciplined special inspector certified by ICC, Caltrans, DSA, Troxler, and ACI.

MARK A.
REESE
NDT Level III Supervisor
As Non-Destructive Testing Supervisor, Mark Reese contributes more than 20 years of structural welding experience to MatriScope's Non-Destructive testing department. Mark is primarily responsible for our structural steel and NDT services and oversight of our steel department including training and administration related to MatriScope’s NDT program in accordance with ASNT-TC-1A and ANSI/ASNT CP-189 requirements. Mark is presently a part-time instructor at American River Junior College in the welding technology program for the certification of welders, inspectors and NDT technicians. Mark has performed visual inspections and non-destructive testing on a wide variety of public works and private sector projects.
